Get Involved

IMG_0797There are many ways to get involved at Gethsemane, both on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. Whether your helping with one of our events, assisting with worship, or working for one of our great causes, getting involved can only enrich your life. Whatever your age or interest area, there is a place for you. Come get connected and build some new friendships.

Get Involved with Worship

Assist with activities during our worship services. For example, serve as a cantor (worship assistant), communion assistant, or reader. Or help collect offerings as an usher, hand out bulletins, help set up and clean up.
Consider performing during our service as a way to minister to the congregation. We often need instrumentalists, singers, and actors and actresses to perform skits from time to time.

Get Involved in a Group

Can you sew? Cut? Lay out a quilt? Currently our quilting group makes hundreds of quilts yearly to support overseas missions.
Several men meet for breakfast and fellowship on Tuesdays at 8 a.m. at Cleary’s Restaurant at Menlo Park.
Consider serving on council and/or one of our committees and assist with the decisions about important matters in our congregation. Keep in mind some of these roles are elected leadership positions.

Get Involved in Praying

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15).
