Our Growth and Service

Growing and Serving

DSC_0564 copyWe are a forgiven, called people – a gathering of believers who have determined our vision is one of serving, of reaching out to the neighborhood and community and sharing the love of God that we ourselves have received. We are brothers and sisters in Christ who desire to be his body in this time and place.

In Community

We are built for relationships; meaningful relationships with other people. God is a God of people, not just persons. Throughout the week we meet in smaller groups to serve and grow in our relationships with one another and Jesus. We gather for worship, fellowship, education, and renewal.

We worship God on Sunday mornings at 8 and 10:30. We have various worship “styles.” Music for worship is provided by a choir, and instrumentalists who play the organ, piano, flute, trumpet, etc.

Growing

steeple1Education opportunities include classes for adults and children on Sunday mornings at 9:15, a Tuesday morning Pastor’s Bible Study at 10 and a Bible class for adults that meets at the Adventist Hospital cafeteria (map) on Thursdays at 7:45 a.m. Preschool is offered for 3, 4 and 5-year olds during the school year.

In Mission

We’re always asking God to give us eyes and a heart for this world, so that we can continually be a part of God’s mission. God can change the world through us if we allow it. Jesus has plans for us all to do meaningful things all over the world, including in our own homes.

We serve other people through various ministries and encourage and equip each other for ministry in our daily lives. We are strongly committed to the greater Lutheran services such as Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Disaster Response, Lutheran World Hunger Appeal, and the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. Service to our community is done through various ministries including the Daybreak Shelter Network, Stephen Ministry, Snow-Cap, English as a Second Language classes held at our building (please call for current times), Eastco Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, House of Zion, and Lutheran Community Services Northwest.

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, you’re officially invited to join us. We welcome all people, all races, abilities, and sexual orientations. Join us in worshiping, growing, and serving.
