Just For Kids

What’s Here for Families? Our Kids’ and Family Ministry provides ministry to children from birth through 12th grade and their families!

This Week @ GLC – If you would like to receive weekly emails on what’s happening at GLC for Children, Youth, and Families please contact Jasmine. (youth@glcportland.org).

Gethsemane’s Children’s Ministry offers a weekly age-appropriate experience for children in grades Kindergarten thru 5th grade. Excluding the summer months (June-July-August), we meet each Sunday during second service.  The children are excused back to Sunday School immediately following Children’s Moment with Pastor Suellen, and return in time for Holy Communion. Your child can be engaged in relevant Bible stories, hands-on activities, and small and large group discussions.

We strive to create an environment that is kid-friendly and Christ-centered. Our teachers create an atmosphere of love and respect, as they teach your children through stories, music, and play. This year, our lessons will be following the Lectionary. That means our children will be hearing the same Bible stories in class as we will be hearing in Worship.

Our largest children’s ministry of the year is Vacation Bible School. Visit the Vacation Bible School link on the right for more information!

Baptism and Splash! program is for children birth to 4 years old!  A monthly newsletter complete with music, games, and lessons that are age appropriate are mailed to your home.  For more information please contact the church office.

Confirmation Classes are held at times convenient for families and the church. Please call the pastor at 503-256-1835 for the current schedule. Confirmation class also culminates in the Confirmation Camp experience. This is an exciting time for Confirmation Class graduates from all over this area to spend time together in celebration and worship.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at glchurch@aceweb.com with any questions or for more information about the church.
